| Re: U.S. Open Anyone? Rusty and injured, Tiger still manages to win a Major. Yes, there are records to be broken, but I’m finding it harder and harder not to declare him the greatest player ever, even if he never plays another hole. |

| Re: U.S. Open Anyone? Greatest ever?? Do me a favour.... Hogan Nicklaus Player Watson Faldo Those five would have all hunted him down on a regular basis. He still hasnt proved he can win when everyone doesnt just roll over to have their bell ends rubbed. Tiger's ability and dedication arent in doubt but without a true rival he will never be he player Nicklaus was. The only problem is, theres no one out there good enough to let him prove it. I also think that the world rankings wants to have a word with itself, if you want to be included in the list you have to play 27 weeks of the year. All this nonsense talk of 7 or 8 wins in a row we have about Woods from time to time, it isnt really 7 in a row because it was 7 out of 16 or 20 or whatever, he just picks and chooses his events based upon ranking points or cash up for grabs or if one of his corporate paymasters is a main sponsor. I have no problem with that per se but players should have a more demanding criteria for qualification. Also, since it's a "world" ranking the players should be required to play at least 20% of their 27 a year (thats only 6 tournaments mind you) on a different tour. Think about it, Canadian Open, British Open, Australian Open, Japan Open, South African Open and the Dubai Desert Classic would cover all the bases very nicely. Surely not too much to ask of the modern jet setting pro?? And before I get accused of more rampant Anti-Tigerism (I forget which one of our american friends is always labelling me with that) I think if anything, Tiger would be even further ahead than he is just now, because he is the best just now and wins wherever golf is played, I just think we wouldnt be living in a world where Steve Stricker (no offense intended) is apparently better than Sergio Garcia or Vijay Singh.
