M Wie playing against the men again

i see that Michelle Wie has accepted to play in the mens Reno-Tahoe open on the 31st of July. she says with the world matchplay being played at the same time she will have a better chance as there will be a weaker field of player.
hope someone will be there to get her to sign her card this time.

this is silly now, she cant even make the cut playing with her peers. I thought this was all done with and she was going to get a chance to go to college, play some golf and live a bit, but obviously the corporate paymasters want the coverage they have paid for so no matter the experience could damage her fragile morale even further, as long as she turns up in her 9 inch long spandex Nike skirt and top 2 sizes too tight with a big ol' white swoosh for all the little girl consumers to see, thats the main thing. Nike, her Parents and the PGA Tour should be ashamed of themselves for what they are doing.......

i could not agree with you more. you have players like Ochoe who are so much better all round golfers than Wie is and thankfully not wanting to try and compete against the men.
i would rate Ochoe in the top 200 men but Wie must be down in the top 1000.

Let's not be too harsh on her, fellas... She is still young, given some more time she may still have some great game in the future...

True enough, the corporate sponsors (Nike, etc.) want their investment in Wie, profitable...

M Wie took a 9 on the par 4 8th and missed the cut after shooting 80 on the second day. she had a 1 over par first round where she did play well.

M Wie is 35th in the Canadian open and she needs to finish 3rd to keep her card and stop her going to Q-school. she had had rounds of 75 and 70 and is playing well so far.
M Wie had hit 17 fairways and is averaging 269.33 for her drives.
GIR 22 and putts taken 58.
that for two rounds.
L Ochoa has hit 25 fairways and is averaging 266.33 for her drives.
GIR 34 and putts 60.
L Ochoa is -10 and M Wie is +1.

Maybe Q-school will be a blessing in disguise for Wie... Some notable players went through Q-school.... Anyway, Wie has plenty of time ahead of her and nobody doubts that she will be a hall of famer one day...

M Wie finished T12th at -3 and she had her best finish this year but will have to go to Q-school for her card next year.
Like cyc said it might do her more good having to get her card.
she played some very good golf this weekend, best in a long time.
