The Hope is always won by players who make stacks of birdies, the courses they play are easier than the usual weekly standard ... Out of the 128 starters, only 13 shot over par, including my mate David Duval who scored 82 (shame! ).

With the absence of the top 4, Phil has a chance but at The Hope guys who often go deep have the best chance (like Phil!). Maybe somebody like JL Lewis, Pat Perez, Kenny Perry ... guys who aren't scared to score low and have the agressive streak that gets them going??

I wouldn't put money on a winner, that's for sure.

Yes! there is a alot of players under par! and alot of players tied for first but its to early to call!

I have to agree with Greg on this one. Mickelson has a habbit of coming out of the gate strong. With a weaker field (than last week) he should be able to walk away victorious on Sunday.

The question is, does Mickelson want to get into his stride this early? Now he has broken the seal on the Majors he might start concentrating on them and try to peak on the four Major weeks. I would certainly have an each way bet on him the two weeks before and after each of the big ones this year.
