| Re: Tiger is back from the clouds It was a bummer that Tiger missed the cut, I really like watching him play also. I was really glad to see the O'Hair kid play so well considering his past and the issue with his former 'supervisor', aka his father. What a story. |

| Re: Tiger is back from the clouds While I will agree that Tiger seems to be the most 'naturally gifted' golfer of our generation (how much natural gift is from starting at age 2?), I must say I pull for the hardest working golfer - Vijay Singh. As for Tiger missing the cut, it would be interesting to find out how many times the #1 player in the world missed the cut. |

| Re: Tiger is back from the clouds I'm not a particularly big fan of the Tiger brand - his record is superb and he is a truly great player but I think he's too petulant too often when playing. If he learned to control his reactions (to his own shots) I think he would be a superb example. Regarding the hardest working player it would be interesting to compare the practice regimes of Tiger in his late teens early 20's to that of Vijay now. Tiger still has the newlywed status whereas Vijay will be looking to get out of the house as often as possible!! All adds to the mix of opinions........ |

| Re: Tiger is back from the clouds That said, fatneck, I'm surprised Tiger is back on the course at all! Granted, one of my favourite quotes is: No matter how good she looks, somebody, somewhere, is tired of putting up with her $hit. |

| Re: Tiger is back from the clouds It will always be a fantasy marriage though - can you imagine being allowed to play golf every weekend? He must buy her a lot of shoes!! Maybe thats why he missed the cut last week - must be feeling the pinch! |

| Re: Tiger is back from the clouds I liked the reference to the 142 cuts I think something like 35 of them were tourneys with no cut,I dont think Mr Nelson had the privilige of playing in any of those so really his record still stands. I think that is probably a more realistic reason why Tiger missed the cut. Despite what some people think of him, he is honest with himself. Mr Nelson's record was really the only one he had left to take, with the exception of the most Majors and thats a different type of record. As it drew closer (only a couple of months good play away from it) I think Tiger would have started feeling the pressure of that. Lets face it its perhaps one of the greatest records in golf and I think its a travesty that they have credited Tiger with it despite the facts. Byron Nelson is still a great ambassador for the sport and deserving of the accolade of 'Most Consistent Performer Ever. Let Tiger earn it by playing 4 rounds in 112 straight tournaments that have a halfway cut. I'm pretty sure thats the way he would want it as well. Yep, heading home to a blonde Swedish Bikini model after playing some of the greatest courses on earth and getting paid $100 million a year to do it....it must be utter torture....... D.

| Re: Tiger is back from the clouds It's almost impossible to compare records to what they were in the past in sports like golf and baseball. As the playing field isn't the same. Look at other sports and they are always playing on the same field. Courts are all the same size etc. Golf the cut line changes from tournament to tournament. Who knows what the standard cut was when Nelson was playing. I agree that Nelson's record for the streak should probably still be alive unless someone can find if there was any tournaments he played in without a cut. Which I'm guessing there probably was a few, but finding that information will be difficult. List both Tiger's and Nelson's with the infamous asterik next to Tiger's. I like watching tiger play, especially if it's close. But I wouldn't call myself a Tiger fan. I just respect his game. Which brings me to "Most Consistent Performer Ever". I think you can't give anybody that title while they're still playing unless it's pretty cut and dry. Tiger makes a strong argument for it though. Missing only 2 cuts in his professional carreer. Finishing in the top 25 in the majority of the tournaments. The cut streak. The major victories. If he stays close to this pace and never has a cut streak longer than 30 again. I'd still give him the "Most Consistent Performer Ever" title.... in another 10 years.

| Re: Tiger is back from the clouds lol hmm. Mizuno we talked before bout tiger when i said u woz hating. Its all good but i still think your hating :P doubt tiger was in the bottom 70 in them '35 tournaments' that had no cut. and everyone and their dogs dogs dogs cats dog and goldfish knows you cant compare generations. So there is no 'travesty' in saying Tiger Woods is the most consistant player..infact the majority of golf fans would agree |

| Re: Tiger is back from the clouds I have always made it quite clear here on GTO that I am a fan of Tiger's ability and the way he handles being in the spotlight whether things are good or bad. It's the way the media handles Tiger that I can't stand. And here is another perfect example. Tiger missed a cut. It was bound to happen. Let's point out that Tiger IS in fact human. Let's drag it through the mud. Where the hell is the talk about Annika winning 6 of her last 7 tourney's and capping her 60th career victory?? Honestly, which is more exciting? I personally don't find Tiger missing the cut exciting, no matter how many cuts in a row he had previously made. Phil, Ernie and Vijay missing the cut is just as exciting. Who cares??? Every week someone misses a cut. Anika winning every event she has entered except for 1 this year is news.

| Re: Tiger is back from the clouds If you ask Vijay about Annika winning 6 of 7 he would say, it doesnt matter. They are women, it is a different game with women. Apparently the Williams sisters (tennis) hav more of a chance against a man than Annika has in the tour. This is why no one should idolize Vijay's ignorant ways. |

| Re: Tiger is back from the clouds Easy Bonzi - I never said I out and out agree with everything Vijay says, nor have I said I idolize him. I appreciate the serious work he puts into his game, I like that he's understated and opinionated, and often looked upon as an underdog because of it. If he's a bigot, I'm not aware of it (and I certainly don't condone it). |
