Geoff Ogilvy claimed the huge winners prize of $1.3 million for winning the Accenture Match Play Championship 2006. He also got to take home the Wedgewood blue Walter Hagen Trophy to put along side the shiny gold Conquistador helmet that he won one year ago this week at the Tucson Chrysler Classic. Well done Geoff.

Geoff winning was not as big of a surprise to many Australians. He has been one of those players that have had potential for a long time. I guess it was all a matter of time (Depends on how much he wants it as well).
Ofcourse, it takes a skills..and a lot of luck to win matchplays and he certainly had both of those in the tournament.
Congrats to him.

Watched the last round on Sunday. Great game. Davis Love III is great. Too bad he had a couple of bad holes.
