Morgan Pressel Wins Nabisco

A great win for the mostly unsung Pressel who seems to have suffered from 3 main problems

1. She arrived just after the still Majorless Paula Creamer, which meant there was no room for another all American stars-and-stripes-cheerleader who can actually play a bit type.

2. She is unfortunately not considered as being as 'pretty' as the still majorless Natalie Gulbis (who's not to my taste to be fair), which means she cant fill the 'anna-kournakova-cant-really-play-but-she-looks-good-in-a-mini-dress-and-will-sell-loads-of-short-skirts-to-chubby-teens space in the market'.

3. And of course she isnt of an ethnic minority so theres no 'emerging-markets-we-really-want-to-sell-viewing-rights-to-the-far-east-without-alienating-american-viewers-with-a-non-american-arent-we-on-the-LPGA-so-very-multicultural' interest from sponsors as there is for the still Majorless Michelle Wie.

But she has gone and done it before a lot of the more fancied runners, I know it was kind of handed to her when Petterson had a bit of a Norman but no one ever complained about that before, plenty of Majors have been won by players who went about their business and posted a score and then watched a longtime leader dissolve on the back 9.

Nice to hear. I've always enjoyed Pressel's attitude (it's the right one to play on Tour). But I'm certainly more of a Creamer fan.

I think this win has opened a huge door for Morgan . I look for her to start being at the top every week now. She seems to have the confidence and attitude and drive to win. Shes got game also. She was not handed this event. These are won on Sundays. She posted the low round of the day and took care of business. BTW I think she is way hotter then Natalie Gulbis. Paula Creamer needs to be doing the calanders.

I only watched a little bit of this major. Good on Morgan for her win. A quiet achiever.

It's good to see the other gals come across the line first - perhaps a changing of the guard. I wonder what is up with Annika. Good to see Karrie coming back from her poor form.

I can't believe Lorena had a quad bogey on the par 3 in the second last round. Oh my goodness Poor course management.

I personally like the swing of Petterson. It's interesting that she has overcome an OTT move. The commentary of her swing of late, has been quite positive and remarkable.

I predict that Petterson will achieve plenty in 2007.

I think this was a huge win for Morgan. The few LPGA tournaments I've watched since she turned pro, I hadn't been impressed with. Pretty much middle of the pack with Creamer consistently performing better.

I think this was her best performance since play the US Open as an amatuer and finishing 2nd.

I think there is only one comparison with Anna Kournakova and Natalie Gulbis and that is the lack of wins. Gulbis is a pretty consitent player and is very near the top tier of the LPGA. The same couldn't be said for Anna win she was playing.

No hype from sponsors, image consultants and the like to take away her focus.
