Question about putter loft at impact.

I know that most putters have 4° of loft, but should that 4° be the same at impact? My friend said that I should de-loft my putterface to 0° before I start my stroke, so the ball does not bounce off of the face. Is this a good thing to do?

Re: Question about putter loft at impact.

Yes. This puts the hands forward. The loft is set to 0 and you now have the square face to hit the ball on the upstroke putting positive roll on the ball right away eliminating skid.
