Re: shanking

The 'Inside Approach.' It's a little tripod looking device that forces you to swing from the inside. You must swing under an 18 inch length of cushion, which is lined up with your target. It costs around $60, but is relatively easy to build yourself. Initially I believed it only benefited my driver, but after the shanks arrived, it has helped to curb them by eliminating my over-the-top move with my irons as well. Good luck.

Re: shanking

Hi There

I had a similar problem but was not actually shanking the ball, I was hitting the ball with a wide open club face that sent it way right. It was most noticeable on the range when practising a lot of pitching shots, suddenly I could hit nothing straight exept a chip shot where my wrists did not cock.

The problem with my wedges was due to swinging down with my hands too far ahead of the ball at impact causing a very late release of the wrists, this kept the club face wide open. The remedy was to release the wrist cock much earlier in the downswing.

Hope this helps
Brian
