Best Wedges

What does everyone think is the best wedge?

Personally i think that mizuno make the best wedges.

Also do people think that RAW wedges are worth having? (the ones that rust over time)

Thanks Proshank

Re: Best Wedges

i just recently bought a new srixon wg-504 wedge for 80$, normally 110$ but my pro is sponsored by srixon

GREAT club, good chipping feel, good spin, has pro grind sole, but what really stands out is the bunker play, its like just throwing the ball out with your hands, 12* of bounce like my old SW but for somereason ton easier

Re: Best Wedges

Hi Proshank,

I think as long as you have had them fitted right they should be fine.

IMO, raw wedges aren't performance enhancing anymore. With CNC milled grooves, the rust just clogs them up. There was a time when the rust provided more bite, but not anymore, IIUC.

Re: Best Wedges

I've played Cleveland, TaylorMade, Nike, and Titleist. But I love my Ping Tour Black 54 and 60. Have a great weight, good feel, and cut like butter though the sand.

The SW (54) is very workable. I can open the face up on it and get nice contact. Even with a normal setup the ball gets up pretty quick.

They come with True Temper Steel shafts.

Great wedges!

Don't forget to click on 'specs'.

The face is CNC milled, and has added texture (USGA legal). It puts a little more junk on your shot (helping you to hold greens).

The best wedge I've ever played. Plus, the durometer insert helps shock-absorb on bad shots. The other plus is that they fit in perfectly with the SMT 303 irons, and they're totally bendable. Plus, there's the SMT lifetime warranty. Grooves worn? Send the head back. Stone gouge in the toe? Send it back. Nick in the face? Send it back. Beauuuuuuuuuuuuuuuty mate!

Re: Best Wedges

looks nice. has anyone tried any diamond faced wedges. they get a hell of a lot of spin but for 90-120 pounds for a wedge its not really worth it

Re: Best Wedges

I had switched to the titleist vokey spin milled 58-08 in tour chrome. WOW, did my short game change! My foursome constantly asks me when I am off the green if I want them to pull the flag. Yes, part is swing, part is equip and alot is luck. For now, I will ride which ever part it is. But, this wedge is awesome. I would suggest giving it a try. I wish Titleist would make a 52* spim milled, but it probably would chew the ball cover up.
