Re: Boomerang Putting Aid

To be honest with you it was mainly the carnoustie putting mat, I am a 3 handicap so I know that putting is where all the strokes are at, and putting on an 11.5 stimp surface wouldn't be easy, and that's what I was looking for. After getting tired of my ball return I was looking around for a new one and everything I found was basically the same thing as the ball return I had which only returned it maybe half the time anyways. The reviews played a big part in it because almost every single one I read was positive, but for me atleast the 11.5 fast putting mat was what totally did the trick. I love how it's such a simple design, easy to set up, and is actually a challenge, probably the only one out there that is a legitimate challenge if you ask me.

Hope that helps you out.

--Edit: I also thought it was cool that there is a $1000 prize if you can beat the record.

Re: Boomerang Putting Aid

I think the only thing holding the boomerang back is that it's not very well known. I just found out about it when I joined this site, maybe if you put it on a big selling site like www.tgw.com or one of those bigger name sites you'd get some more buyers. I think the website for the boomerang is great, I especially like how the pros that back the product aren't guys like Vijay Singh who are behind almost every training aid out there. You have a great product I just think you need to make it easier for people to know about it.

Re: Boomerang Putting Aid

Hey Gatorguy,

Got any mates at TGW.com? It's a catch 22. They only want it if it's well known and we can only become a household name if they and others like them stock it...

Still scratching my noggin but really really appreciate the feedback.

Keep on Booming!

Cheers

Alex

How about putting some up for prizes in club matches in return for running a banner on the club website?

Re: Boomerang Putting Aid

Maybe try sending a few to some country clubs around the states, I work at a golf course and it seems whenever we get something new in there's always people that come in and play with it. And with how good your product is I'm sure that after using it for a few times in the club house they'll buy one for themselves.

Just a thought, I don't really know how hard that would be to get done but it could work lol.

Re: Boomerang Putting Aid

I just got mine in the mail today. One week shipping from Australia to Denmark. That's quite a lot better than the quoted "10-14 workdays", and - knowing the danish postal service - generally impressive. :-)

The setup is a *****. It takes a chainsaw to open the plastic package and I was REALLY eager to get going! ;-)

Kidding aside, setup takes 4-5 seconds once the package is open, and 3 of those seconds is the tray on the DVD-players being too slow.

The Boomerang is the first putting aid that turns practice into a game. This is genuinely FUN to use, and as others have mentioned, you don't even think about grooving your swing much, It just happens, all by itself.

If any of you are on Facebook (and I know you are), I've started a group here...

Boomerang Golf

Please join in and share your stories on records, alternative ways of playing etc.

What's your personal best so far. I've gotten 5 in a row 4 or 5 times but can't seem to get passed that.

Use it about everyday, damn thing isn't easy lol.

Re: Boomerang Putting Aid

hi gatorguy
i was reading in another post how well your game was improving and how good you were putting now. do you think the boomerang has helped, is it that your distance control has improved or do you think its more a confidence thing.
i know i now feel i have a chance of putting most puts and get upset at picking the wrong line rather than the distance now and that has changed my putting from what was rather bad to being really good.
cheers

I have 5 in a row once, and a few 4 in a row.

But I'm not on the full distance though. Only about 4 feet out.

I get a lot of "double traps", where both balls stay in the cup, but I suspect that it's a matter of setting the depth right.

That's what I find hardest - making sure I set the depth right.

My current methodology is to put a ball in the cup, then rotate it until the ball releases. Then it's 1/2 turn back down. I don't get doubles too often, but it still happens.

I think it helps in how it grooves your stroke without you realizing it, because if you are just a bit off on the second putt the ball doesn't come out or they both get stuck. I find myself on the course now picking out my line and I just say to myself atleast get it there. I feel I have pretty good distance control now, I don't worry about hitting it online anymore so that's where I think the boomerang helps the most. The distance control thing is harder because the greens here are slower than the carnoustie mat. But maybe I don't realize how much it is helping with distance control because I no longer really think abotu a lot over the putt anymore, like I'm not afraid of running it by which is probably due to the boomerang. The 6-10 footers have become almost a lock and I've never had that before I got the boomerang so I doubt it's a coincidence.

Hope that answers your question I feel like I got way off topic lol.

Re: Boomerang Putting Aid

hi gatorguy
i know just how you feel i get the same feeling now.
you know if you miss a putt from about 10 feet you wont miss the second putt and you sort of go on auto-pilot when you putt, i too only think about pace and not so much about line. i find that my first or second look at the line is all i need if i look at the line to long i start second guessing the putting line and the first line is more often the right one.
cheers

Re: Boomerang Putting Aid

Yeah my confidence hast just gone through the roof on the greens now.

I put the line on my golf ball and line that up on the line I want to putt and with the better distance control and easily repeatable stroke that I've gained from using the boomerang it just makes it easier because I don't want to have to worry about the line. I feel if I line it up with the line on the ball I don't really think too much anymore. My only thought is give it a chance now. I feel like I can make any putt so I always tell myself to atleast get it there so it can go in, which you see the pros do alot, from the 20-30 foot and in range you don't really see them leave it short hardly at all.

Re: Boomerang Putting Aid

UPDATE---

I just made 9 in a row. I got the 10th first putt in but hit the ball square but was a little too hard and the 2nd ball tapped it and stayed in the cup.

I read on the brochure thing that the former world record was 7 so I'm a little proud of myself. I guess I should start video taping myself so I can win that $1,000 lol.

Re: Boomerang Putting Aid

hi gatorguy
i have made 10 a couple of times but every time i try and tape it 7 is the max i have got. think its one of them things you have to be lucky to film yourself when putting at your best, there is a bit of luck too as like you i have hit the first ball but it wobbled but stayed in the hole.
keep trying i do think that 15 is possible.
cheers
bill
