Re: Very Short Chip Shots.... saw an article regarding distance pw - rolls 2 feet for 1 foot hit 9i - 3 feet per 1 foot 8i - 4 per 1 sw - i get about 1:1 so if you have 15 feet to the flag and and your are 4 feet off the green, hit the ball 1 foot into the green with a 9i and should roll up to the pin. 1:3 = 5:15 mike.

Re: Very Short Chip Shots.... And all the roll depends on the speed of the greens. I have found it closer to the formula (normal speed greens, around 8-9s, not 10-12s) 7i = 1/3 pw = 1/1 sw = 3/1

Re: Very Short Chip Shots.... Chipping and putting is all feel and it depends on how the ball is sitting. The lie dictates what club you should use to chip with. If everything is perfect, they you just have to go to the course and practice. Do it when you play. Just go out and try different shots on the course - where you are going to need it.
