Chipping: Flat Left Wrist?

I have read a couple of tips concerning chipping and a comment I keep seeing is a flat left wrist. I cup my left wrist in my normal gip. Do I need to change up and get that left wrist flat?

I cannot think of anywhere you would want a cupped left wrist at impact, it creates thinned and weak shots. You should be compressing the ball by hitting down at it, this needs a flat left wrist, bowed back is better than cupped..

Try a cupped right wrist when chipping, as in the RH drill, I think you will like the results.

The back of your hand should always be flat, not angle up from your wrist. In fact there should be a straight line running from the head of the club, up the shaft, your hand, your wist, lower arm to the upper arm. If someone faces you, your right arm, left arm & club should form the small letter " y ". " \ " is your right arm & " / " is your left arm & the golf club.

Lastly like brian said, you are hitting down not cupping your hand, trying to scope the ball up.
