Advanced Techniques on Chipping

Here are some advanced techniques on chipping.

Altering the face angle at impact

When facing a downhill chip shot that breaks left to right

You have the option of playing a slice chip shot

How to execute

Open the face of the clubhead

Weaken your grip move both of your hands over to the left

Open your stance

Swing on an out to in path

After the ball is struck you will note that it flies higher and lands softer, and when it hits the green it will spin to the right.

How to hit a draw chip shot

When chipping on a uphill lie that slopes right to left

Close the face of the clubhead

Strengthen your grip

Close your stance

Swing a more inside to out, which will induce rotation of the hands, and arms at impact.

You will notice when the ball lands it will spin to the left

great tip very useful , but i think when giving short game tips you can't stress enough the importance of the movement of the hips in shots around the greens as it is minimal if not none existant ..any movement of the hips can cause all manner of miss hits .
