| Another new member returning after 30+ years Hello All, As the title alludes to I am a returning golfer after a 34 year hiatus. Let me breifly say that from the time I was able to understand what a golf club was I had one in my hands. My parents, both scratch golfers "forced" the game on me. I know poor me. At the time it felt like drudgery, every vacation every weekend countless hours, a good time was heading to a bunker with a bucket of balls for an hour of "fun" Well as soon as I was able to institute my will I said no to golf.....Well here I am in my fifties back and loving the game. I am glad to be part of this forum and hope to be a positive addition. Best Regards to all..... |

| Re: Another new member returning after 30+ years Welcome back to a great game...it's funny to hear a story like that. Complete opposite of mine. I was "forbidden" to play as a kid. My Dad had a hate/hate relationship growing up - he hated the fact that he hated the game. He always deep down wanted to like it, but always found something to hate about it. When I grew up, he hid the clubs, never wanting me to get interested, and he always stuck a baseball bat, or tennis racket in my hands. When I finally found the clubs at 18 or so, I instantly loved it. Makes me think if I was introduced at the early age if I would have the same passion...
