I am looking for some ways to get my game to be more consistant. I play decent, but always seem to have 1 or 2 blowup holes in a round.

Re: New Member

Have you been able to narrow down any of the reasons?

* Are they on the same hole or hole type?
* Is it a type of shot that gets you into trouble?
* Are you going to a high risk shot and just get "unrewarded"?
* Is your temper getting to you after a bad hole/shot, and you loose focus?

This is the short list, but just meant to spark the thread.

Re: New Member

Lets see: Answers to your questions

* Are they on the same hole or hole type? Usually it is on tighter holes, or just the first couple of holes in the round. I seem to start off with a lot of bogeys and double bogeys.

* Is it a type of shot that gets you into trouble? I have been strugglnig most with my driver and getting into the fairway. I took a few lessons a few years back and changed my swing quite a bit. It has had a great impact on all of my game and my confidence other than with my driver. I used to play a pretty heavy slice, but knew it was there and just dealt with it, but I hit it very consistantly. Now I can hit the ball straighter, with a slight slice or a slight draw, which just means I am not swinging the same. But also what it means is no confidence on where to aim.

* Are you going to a high risk shot and just get "unrewarded"? I do take a few risks here or there, but not normally. Only ones with a little higher probability or if I am struggling a little and trying to make something back.

* Is your temper getting to you after a bad hole/shot, and you loose focus? My temperment is pretty lax so I believe that I am ok on that front

I have also started hitting with longer distance on all of my irons, so I am trying to get used to distances. Sometimes I feel like I just can't possibly hit a club as far as it is ending up.

Thanks for the feedback.
