New Member Checking in

Hello: Just another "Golf Nut" signing on. Winter is fast approaching, and if I can't play, at least I can read and talk about golf!

Re: New Member Checking in

You guys should move to South Africa.
Winter here in Cape Town consists of days not much golder than 10*C, we don't get snow other than on the top of the mountains. We can easily play golf every day if we wanted to, no snow ploughs required and the sun sets at around 5:30pm in winter.

Re: New Member Checking in

Well, it does not get too bad here on Long Island in the winter. If its 40 degrees F and no wind, we do go out and play, albeit not on a regular basis. What I and my buddies do is; hop on a plane and head South (Florida) a couple of times in the winter for a 3 or 4 day splurge! 36 P/Day, 19th Hole for RX, Dinner, Crash & Burn, "Up and At Em" early the next day! Trouble with that is; every other "Snow Bird" has the same idea, and it gets a bit crowded on the course, not to mention the restaurants!

Re: New Member Checking in

Sun all year round, Not for me thanks.

It's nice to have the seasons in this country, Winter is not to bad a bit cold and wet but we can still get out and play, Winter is a time to work on something new and enjoy a snowy Christmas with the family, anyway how would Santa get here in a sledge with no snow??.

When spring arrives it's like the start of a formula One Race, can't wait for the first comp to go up on the club board.

As Ricky has already said when Summer arrives suddenly the ball goes further and you feel like your hard work has paid off.

I wonder if you sun worshipers would be any good if you played in all the different conditions we have to play in, yardages change 10-15 yds sometimes just because the air is heavy.

Difference is the spice of life......Quote JRY Everything in Moderation...
