The thing with the One Plane Swing is that you pronate your left forearm towards the top of the backswing in order to err on the laid-off side and this makes it damn near impossible to come over-the-top and oustdide-in.

I'm still just a beginner but since adopting the One Plane Swing's attributes I've gone from being a natural slicer to slicing it once in a blue moon and only with the woods.

I've got Jim Hardy's book and I think it mostly makes very logical sense and has had an instant improvement on my consistency. As long as I'm not tired physically or mentally, which can cause me to have a bit of a breakdown in the backswing, I barely hit a bad shot.

As for the Tiger Woods thing, from pictures and what I've heard he's going towards a One Plane Swing. This I hear is because of his natural tendency to whip his body through the ball which used to lead to bad days when his timing wasn't right. However, with the 1PS you are supposedly able to thrash your shoulders through as fast as you like.
