Cool Hi there!

Hi everyone! I'm a first time golfer...only been going for five months. I'm really enjoying getting into the game and signed up to my first club membership the other day! Just starting with lessons, etc. and am now looking for a forgiving set of female clubs. Had my eyes on some Mizuno Tavas, but don't really know much else about clubs, except that I need a hybrid set. At the moment I'm not doing too bad but for some reason my tee shots almost always slice left...oh well! Well, look forward to being a part of this online golfing community. It seems very well set up and there are some interesting posts! If anyone has suggestions for clubs I could investigate it would be much appreciated!

Re: Hi there!

Welcome to the game!, Smoates.

And welcome to the forum, it's plenty of good stuff here. I'd say to you " Go with the Mizunos!" but you'd better try some different irons and shafts out before you buy them and go with the ones you feel better, if your local Pro agrees.

My only advice: hang strong on what your Pro tells you, now in the begining, and fight strong against yourself in the next couple of months.

Welcome again to the Heaven and Hell.

Toni.

Re: Hi there!

welcome aboard, theres a lot of good people here that will give some good insight that should help you alot in your game, it takes time, just dont get caight up in trying to fix to many things at once, take it slow and youll improve much faster.stick with your lessons they should help alot. as for clubs try as many different kinds as you can to see what you really like. go to a retail golf shop the should have all kinds of demos to try. wish i was where you are im sittin in 4 inches of snow and 2 degrees above zero burrrrr. cant wait for spring. have fun and enjoy the group here.

Re: Hi there!

Hi Smoates

Your diffuculty in hitting the ball straight could stem from one (or more) of several different sources. Of concern, you should consider whether your equipment is suited to your body size and your swing. If your clubs are too long for you it could cause the ball to hit to the left. Also if your shafts are too flexible you could have the same problem. Once you are sure that your clubs are right for you, you will be able to maximize the benefit of your lessons and have more fun with the game.
