Hi I'm Dan, I've been playing for about a year and after joining my local club are now looking for a handicap. My only major problem seems to be my consistency-i struggle to hit repeated lenghts and directions with any club especially my driver. I heard this was a good forum so I'm just saying hi and look forward to learning and hopefully helping everyone here Dan ![]() Last edited by Dan S; 12-11-2005 at 09:01 PM.

Re: Hello from Bristol Hi Dan I was a bit curious about what you use for sticks? Including shaft description. I am wondering whether for a new golfer, you may possibly have shafts a bit too stiff for you? Kurt www.TheAceofClubs.com

Re: Hello from Bristol Well, it seems that if you can hit your 7 wood well (which is a little stiffer) you may want to consider stiffer shadfts in the rest of your clubs. The next thing I would consider is whether the shaft length is correct for your body/build. If too short, the ball tends to go to the right, if too long, the ball will tend to go left. Shaft length, proper flex and a low torque rating are all important. As far the head goes, your 420cc will obviously be titanium which is good, but what are the rebound qualities? A head with a high COR will help tremendously with distance, 25 yards on average. Kurt www.TheAceofClubs.com

Re: Hello from Bristol Without a doubt Dan a fitted driver will make a world of difference. It would allow you to stand more naturally rather than hunch over the club. It will help the clubhead lie flatter to the ground which will help tremendously with accuracy (straighter shots). Not only that, but a longer shaft means more clubhead speed which equates to longer shots. Kurt www.TheAceofClubs.com
