| Re: Yet another nooB! Hello cwojo72,
I also sometimes have problems with the 'laterals', and found a couple of things help. Whether or not they help you, I'm not sure, but this is what I try:
1) Position ball a little bit further from the body,
2) Get the feeling of keeping the right elbow close to the body on the downswing
3) Cock the wrists fuller at the top of the backswing
4) Make a positive follow-through
I work on each of these ONE AT A TIME - its too much to think about if you try to do them all. And if that fails, I will start to hit easy chip shots on the range, focusing on an inside-to-square attack, and solid contact.
As I say, these things work for me, so don't expect miracle results. And keep thinking positive - I've heard many pros say that a 'sh**k' is the product of a nearly-good swing - its not as bad a fault as the result seems to show.
