| Need help gettin my woods up !!!! No for real... Hey guys this is my first little forum thingy, but i figured i would ask for some tips on how to hit a wood off the fairway better. I am 17 years old and i began golfin last year and i am allready number one on my golf team and one big disadvantage i have is to hit the long ball on par 5 or long par 4's after a bad drive. So please give me some pointers on how to get my woods in the air, because i usually hit a lot of wormburners. THANKS! |

| Re: Need help gettin my woods up !!!! No for real... While you're working on getting your fairway woods up, think 'lay up'. Then get up and down and save your par. Or get on and two putt and save bogey. Anyway, some information is needed. How far do you carry your 3 wood. 5 iron? Driver? What is the loft on said clubs (I don't expect you to know your 5 iron, but your fairway woods should be stamped). If you know it, what's your swing speed with your driver? All this will help determine a proper answer. (Because it don't mean a thing if you ain't got the swing. Or swing speed.)

| Re: Need help gettin my woods up !!!! No for real... 1) check ball position - should be 1-2 balls between the middle of your stance and the front foot. 2) Grip - if too strong may you may be hooding the club down at impact 3) Maintain spine angle throughout the swing. will help you the hit down through the ball. |
