Hello Everyone, I am in Houston Hi, My name is Sam, I have just started playing golf. My first game is scored 115 and in my second game I scored 127. At the driving range my shots are 50% good and rest are Fat or thin or..... I really like this game as this is the only sport I can play after my hip replacement. I definitely want to hit better shots, therefore I am seeking as much information as possible. Thanks Sam

Re: Hello Everyone, I am in Houston Sam: Welcome. You are very lucky as a beginner because the game offers some new and exciting learning methods. The best idea is to go to a pro in your area with a good reputation. Do the research and find someone who knows how to communicate. This is key. On your end, keep and open mind and do not be object to trying new things. For example, if your grip is very tight and you do not hit good shots with it, by all means experiment with a softer feel on the club and see what happens. It might not be perfect but this will give you good feedback. Keep notes on what works and does not work. Make an effort to watch good players and absorb the ease at which the move their bodies and the club into the shot. Good swings look effortless but in reality they are ultimately effecient in the way they utilize balance, motion, speed and timing. I always like to talk to good players to get their impressions and philosophies on the golf swing. Good luck

Hello I am from Illinois. My husband has me hooked on this game, which I have just began to learn. I have been out a total of 7 times this year. I started out about 140, which we are always glad to let people play through when they come up behind us! Well needless to say, hubby bought me some clubs of my own and I am well on my way to getting it! Today I shot 126, much more improvement but I too want to have some tips that I can work on at home. My stance and back swing are two areas I need to improve.
