| I can hit an awsome ball with my driver but when i swing with my Irons 70% of the time i hit top of the ball and send it bouncing and rolling along and not going very far. on my practice swings i do fine any suggestions?? |

| Re: Hitting top of ball My guess is you are trying to kill the ball to get distance. I also assume you try to "hit" the ball. I remember having the same problem when I started. Swatting is very tempting, on the range it works because you hit ball after ball and that lets you adjust the timing. On the course you don't have that, one swing hit or miss... ![]() Have a look at the GregJWillis site. I think he did a awesome job, thanks Greg! http://members.cox.net/gregjwillis/LESSON1.htm Keep the hands ahead of the ball, and swing down on the ball. Don't try to "make" the ball fly. Your Clubs are designed to take care of the ball flight... just gotta trust them... ![]()

| Re: Hitting top of ball Thanks Talisker for the pointers you were exactly right. It was just like you were right there watching what i was doing. I just relaxed and let the club do the work with great loft and was suprised with the distance without even trying to crush the ball.
