Hello All; I Have a question Hello everyone; The question I have is pertaining to mens league golf. We play by the usga rules but I could not find this answer. We have two betting holes, they are worded like this. Longest drive in the fairway. Longest putt on #8. I had a 40 foot putt on #8 but was disqualified because I was putting from 2 inches on the fringe of the green. They stated that it was not a putt. It was an approach shot. But I did find in rule 16 about putting from off the green. What does anyone think. Thanks for your help Reggie

Re: Hello All; I Have a question You have to realize that everyone is going to look for any little fraction of a doubt in these things. Off the fringe is a grey area. I think the PGA treats this as a "fairway" level cut and not a "Green", so their stats work in this respect. If the ball is in the fringe, it is not considered "green".

Re: Hello All; I Have a question Thanks Greg, I guess they should clarify putting on the green as they do the fairway long drive. At least I didn't have to buy a round with the winnings. That generally cost more than the winnings. Reggie
