Hi all, new Uk member

Hi, my name is laura and i'm very, very new to golf. Its something i've always fancied doing but never got round to. Then last week on Ebay someone swopped a game of mine for a full set of clubs, not really sure if their any good they are Mizuno and only 2 months old, cart bag, balls and all.
so here i am. I played golf at school but as most things you learn at school it went in one ear and out the other, so i'm basically looking round the web on beginners instructions on how to hold your club etc. I'm looking forward to learning and have found a great 18 hole smaller course only a mile from me (think i better learn abit first though, don't wanna get banned on my first outing)

Hi and Welcome Laura, you have certainly selected the most helpful and informative site. You seem fortunate to have a course just one mile away from home, and hopefully the green fees are affordable. You may wish to have a few lessons with the golf pro, and practice at the driving range before venturing on the course.
In addition you also get valuable tips and advice on the forums here at GTO, and this extends to anything golf related. Best of luck as you progress, and remember - HAVE FUN!

my best advice i can give to you is , see a golf pro for a few lessons before you pick up any bad habits , which will be hard to correct once engrained.
