| Re: distance Let's start asking some questions: Age? M/F? How long have you been playing? Are you athletic? |

| Re: distance That is something you will have to figure out on your own. I say an average 8 iron for a decent golfer is about 150 to 155. I hit my 8 about 160. Every swing is different. Some faster, some slower, some play the ball back and hit it low, some play it forward and hit it high. I played with a guy today that hit his pitching wedge 100 yards, while I hit mine around 140. Different for everybody. As far as distance between each club, I like to use a green to figure that out. I play one club difference between the front and the back of most greens. My irons have a gap of 15 yards between each. |

I don't hit it 100 yards. It's actually more like 105. LOL And I hit my 7 iron around 150. Of course, I only swing about 85% with my irons because I feel the slower swing gives me more control with a lot less water and tree shots. I've always hit my irons slower then my driver and fairway woods. Besides more control, if I'm say 160 from the flag, I can take out the 7 and hit it 100% to put it close to the hole instead of grabbing my 6 iron and possibly busting right over the green.
