The Hammer

Is the Hammer "legal"? Is it a gimmick?

Re: The Hammer

No, the Air Hammer driver is illegal for USGA and R&A competitions.

It's perfectly fine to use otherwise.

LP, not that I plan on getting one any time soon, but, what is it that renders these clubs illegal...??

First is the 'air flow' vents in the head. Violates Appendix 2, section 4a(i): ...Features which are deemed to be in breach... and therefore not permitted include holes in the head.

And the oval shaft violates Appendix 2, section 2b(i,ii): At any point along its length, the shaft must: bend in such a way that the deflection is the same regardless of how the shaft is rotated about its longitudinal axis; and (ii) twist the same amount in both directions.

Re: The Hammer

The product has no credibility to me when the guy selling it claims to be a 6-time world long drive championship. Anyone involved with long drive knows that he's never won the title and on one even knows the guy.

Re: The Hammer

Here's the rogue's gallery of equipment, which promise to fullfil your golf dreams. I had to check, I thought the original Air Hammer had the holes. The new Hammer in the current info commercial is hyping the Zolex material.

What I heard about this guy is he is a natural long hitter, and could do it with any club other than these.
