Hi from Bulgaria Hi, probably it may sound strange, but here in Bulgaria the Golf game emerges and attracts more and more people. A lot of golf courses are in building stage now, and soon we'll be a force in this game We already have 3 completed greens. If someone is interested - i can tell you more.

Re: Hi from Bulgaria I'm quite interested. Last August I spent time in Romania. I never did get to the 9 holer in Bucharest (I spent most of my time in Sibiu and Miercurea Ciuc). It's awesome to hear that more eastern European countries are building golf courses.

Re: Hi from Bulgaria This below is information from the press, but it is pretty much what happens here. There is another golf course to be built in Pravets, near Sofia, which I think will be the biggest hit (I have a movie for it - i can show it to you if you want). "At the present time there are only three golf courses in Bulgaria. Two of them are located near the capital Sofia near the towns of Elin Pelin and Ihtiman, which are about 40km from Sofia. The third golf course was opened in 2004 and is located in the town of Sliven some 90km from the Black Sea. The increasing foreign interest in Bulgaria in the last few years has led to the development of five more golf courses across the country. Three of those golf courses are along the North Black Sea coast near the towns of Balchik and Kavarna, one is near the ski resort of Bansko, and another one in the town of Dolna Banya near the emerging ski resort of Borovets. The plans for several more golf developments have recently been approved. One of those developments will be near the town of Razgrad in the northeast, and another one will be on the Southern Black Sea coast near the town of Primorsko. The 53-million Euro Pomorie Golf Course will be built within the next two years. The Kuttina Golf Resort near Sofia will be another significant golf investment. Many of the golf courses have been designed by famous golf players, such as Gary Player, Ian Woosnam, and Jack Nicklaus. Most golf courses in Bulgaria will be grouped in clusters at a distance of no more than 30-40km from one other. One of the golf clusters will be around Sofia. The other main clusters of golf courses will be located on the Northern and the Southern Black Sea coast. Bansko and the region near the world famous ski resort will boast yet another cluster of golf courses."
