Hi all I am a new member and looking forward to getting information to help my game. I have been trying the stack and tilt golf swing ever since I had seen the article in a magazine. I must say there are times when I hit the golf ball perfect and times when i hit it thin. Not sure why I do that but I am going to keep trying to learn the new swing as I feel it suits my game.

i have been working with stack and tilt swing thoughts the last few rounds, and i am scoring fairly well. i dont hit every shot perfect, but my misses are more controlled, and since this game is to play for the mistakes, it means the mistakes are in a more perdicatable area.

when i do hit bad shots with stack and tilt they are:

-too much draw, or a pull, with draw (pull hook). for some reason, this is especially on par 3 holes with an iron on the tee.
-not able to fade the ball like i used to (probably has something to do with the draw now)
-i have a little loss in distance, but i am long enough, so hitting 8 iron 150 off the tee is fine by me. in the fairway, i'll take the 8 iron from about 145.
-i have hit some thin shots as well, but as they say, thin to win. and previously, i hit fat shots, so i will take thin over fat anyday. i would rather work on the pulled shots first before figuring out the thin shots.

i broke out my golf digests again and am trying to get more info on this swing as well. it goes against all i have studied in the golf swing, and being self taught, it just goes to show that there are a million ways to advance that little white ball into the hole. what is especially radical is leaving the weight on the front foot, and the more or less reverse pivot instead of moving weight from back foot to front foot.

this is working for now, so i am going to stick with it, try to work it on the range. i am sure this time next week, i will try another new swing philosophy.
