Hello World

Hi everyone,

I am new here. I plan to become a major contributor as it seems like a great forum to be a part of. I love the game of golf but do not get the chance to play as much as I'd like. Anyway, please welcome me and I'll see you around. In advance thank you for welcoming me.

Cool Re: Hello World

Hi EZ, welcome to GTO. This site will certainly help to improve your game, and hopefully you will get to play more often.

Re: Hello World

Welcome aboard. Aside from a few, I am sure we all don't get the chance to play as much as we like. But that brings up an interesting question.

If you did get all the time you wanted, how much would you actually play? Assume you won the lottery. And think for a moment. What would be too much golf? Every day? Every other day? 2 on and 1 off...?

I tried it for 9 months straight. If I wasn't playing, I was practicing. I took 1 day off a week. I got into a cycle that I was ready to get out of. I needed about a full month off before I wanted to play again.

I think a perfect mix is 1 day on and 2 off, unless you are playing in a multi day tourney. With all that lottery money, I could travel one day to exotic locations, sightsee, then play a few days, and sightsee again. Spend maybe a 2 weeks at each place. This could be just about perfect.

Re: Hello World

Good question.

First off, as I said in the Dogsblog, I don't think I'm physically capable of playing every day.

Not from a tiredness point of view but because football (soccer) and rugby injuries accumulated over the years mean that various joints would rebel.

Second off, would I want to? Probably not, truth to tell.

I'd want to play more often - a couple of times a week, somewhere warm and dry for preference and I'd try and get in a structured practice session once a week - probaly supervised by Joe Hagan who I'd hire as my personal trainer .

Apart from that I'd do a little putting on my home practice green on what would otherwise be totally golf free days and (to paraphrase Mrs Merton) use the magnetism of the lottery millions to persuade beautiful women to find me attractive

Mrs Merton

Fon non UK GTO members, Mrs Merton was a parody chat show host in a TV series in the mid 90's Paul Daniels was (is) a magician and entertainer who married his beautiful and much younger assistant Debbie Mcgee. In a famous inteview Mrs merton asked Debbie.

"Tell us Debbie, what first attracted you to the small, fat, bald, millionaire Paul Daniels?"

A classic TV moment.

Re: Hello World

Neither GB or BF; it will probably require one of our cousins to identify him.
